Turkey’s participation in EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism has been updated in a new agreement

09/07/24 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 9 July, the European Union and Turkey signed an updated agreement on the EU’s civil protection mechanism, which has linked them since 2016. The agreement strengthens the role of Turkey, which is already “heavily involved in the development of RescEUcapabilities and has hosted the EU's largest MODEX civil protection exercise to date”, said EU Crisis Management Commissioner Janez Lenarčič.
