The total value of trade via the EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes is estimated at around €163 billion, since their introduction in May 2022. These Lanes have made it possible to establish new transport routes to keep Ukraine’s imports and exports flowing by rail, road and inland waterways.
The Solidarity Lanes have enabled Ukraine to export almost 141 million tonnes of goods, according to data from Ukrainian customs registers. It is estimated that the Solidarity Lanes have made it possible to export around 78 million tonnes of Ukrainian agricultural products and around 63 million tonnes of non-agricultural products, including ores, steel and related products.
According to figures provided by the European Commission, 54% of these Ukrainian agricultural products, including cereals and oilseeds, were exported via the Solidarity Lanes, and 46% via Ukrainian Black Sea ports between May 2022 and May 2024.
Ukraine was able to import almost 55 million tonnes of goods, including fuel, vehicles, fertilisers and military and humanitarian aid. (Original version in French by Anne Damiani)
