On Tuesday 2 July, the European Commission authorised two crops of genetically modified (GM) maize for food and feed use. Another crop of GM maize has had its authorisation renewed.
These authorisations cover the import of these crops for use in food and animal feed. Growing these GM crops remains banned in the EU.
