European Commission launches pilot mechanism to boost hydrogen production

The European Commission has opened a call for tenders to support the development of the European hydrogen market (see EUROPE B13410A24). From mid-2025, it should help to link hydrogen suppliers and buyers, identify market dynamics and provide information on project financing opportunities.

The pilot mechanism, which is part of the European Hydrogen Bank, is due to last at least five years. The Commission hopes that it will enable the development of hydrogen production on the continent. Few...
