03/06/24 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 3 June, the European Central Bank (ECB) announced the names of the 2024 finalists in its Young Economist Prize research competition. PhD students were invited to submit papers on different aspects of this year’s theme, “Monetary policy in an era of transformation”. These articles cover the rise and fall of inflation in the euro area, monetary policy cycles, short- and long-term productivity in the euro area and the economics of biodiversity. The shortlisted finalists will have the opportunity to attend the ECB’s annual Forum on Central Banking from 1 to 3 July, where their research work will be shared.
