European social partners call on voters to go to polls and make their voices heard

In a joint statement issued on Thursday 23 May, the leaders of four European trade unions and employers’ representatives called on Europeans who were able to do so to turn out to vote in the European elections to be held from 6 to 9 June.

In this declaration entitled “Voting for Europe: Securing a bright future, together”, the European social partners of the European Trade Union Confederation (ETUC), BusinessEurope, SGI Europe (services of general interest) and SMEunited (SME envoy) call on those entitled to vote “to make their voices heard”.

As representatives of trade unions and employers from across Europe, we are united in our belief that participation in these elections is not just about electing policymakers. It is about securing a bright future for all and addressing the key challenges of our time.

As social partners, “we also know how important it is that we work together to ensure that Europe remains a home to successful companies and quality jobs”.
