02/04/2024 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission has opened a call for contributions by 24 April with a view to publishing an implementing regulation in the field of intellectual property. It is based on its 2013 regulation, which sets out procedural rules for customs authorities to enforce intellectual property rights (IPRs) on certain goods. The text provides for businesses to be able to apply to customs authorities for the latter to take action when they suspect that their intellectual property rights are being infringed. The future implementing regulation will specify the obligations of businesses when they submit such an application, in particular the obligation to do so electronically.
