26/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – In a press release issued on Thursday 22 February, the association of EU airlines, Airlines for Europe (A4E), expressed its “concern” about the current negotiations on Single European Sky (SES2+) legislation (see EUROPE 13334/11). It fears “the negative consequences that will arise if policymakers rush to adopt the file for the sake of completion before the European elections”. In its view, these compromises will maintain the current “patchwork” in European airspace, harming passengers and the environment, rather than bringing about the improvements the industry needs to increase flight efficiency. The A4E therefore “urges policymakers to ensure that there is a harmonised approach, particularly when it comes to technology and operations”. (AD)
