26/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – Didier Reynders, European Commissioner for Justice, visited Eurojust’s headquarters in The Hague, Netherlands on Thursday 22 February to assess its accomplishments since 2019. Alongside Ladislav Hamran, President of Eurojust, he discussed a number of initiatives, including the establishment of a digital platform for the European judicial system, external cooperation projects such as EuroMed Justice for the countries of the Southern Neighbourhood and the WB Crim Just project for the Western Balkans, as well as efforts to combat impunity for crimes in Ukraine (see EUROPE 13308/26). Mr Hamran paid tribute to Eurojust’s contribution in this area and praised the Commissioner’s “invaluable” support. Didier Reynders, for his part, stressed the importance of strengthening Eurojust and praised its central role in the investigation of international crimes. (NP)
