26/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 26 February, the EU Council decided to extend by one year, until 28 February 2025, the restrictive measures linked to internal repression in Belarus and the regime’s support for Russia’s war against Ukraine. The various restrictive measures include an asset freeze and a ban on making funds available to sanctioned individuals and entities. Individuals are also subject to a travel ban. A total of 233 individuals, including Alexander Lukashenko, along with 37 entities, are subject to these measures. Belarus is also subject to targeted economic sanctions, including restrictions on the financial sector, trade, dual-use goods, technology and telecommunications, energy and transport. (CG)
