Walter Baier only candidate at this stage for nomination as Spitzenkandidat of ‘Party of the European Left’

21/02/24 (Agence Europe) – The President of the Party of the European Left (EL), the Austrian Walter Baier, is set to be nominated as the lead candidate (‘Spitzenkandidat’) for the next European elections, which will take place from 6 to 9 June. According to several sources, his candidacy, proposed by the party secretariat, is for the moment the only one submitted. He is due to be appointed on 24 February at the EL congress in Ljubljana.
