On Wednesday 21 February, Ivars Ijabs MEP (Renew Europe, Lithuanian) chaired a debate of the “Panel for the Future of Science and Technology” at the European Parliament on ‘open science’. The MEP emphasised that ‘open science’ was one of the main drivers of innovation and that this practice strengthened public confidence, while improving the quality and effectiveness of science.
