15/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 14 February, the Member States’ ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) approved the revision of the regulation and directive governing market infrastructure (EMIR), as provisionally agreed in early February by the negotiators of the European Parliament and the Council of the EU (see EUROPE 13345/24). The compromises reached were strongly criticised by one of the Parliament’s shadow rapporteurs on the text, Claude Gruffat (Greens/EFA) (see EUROPE 13348/24). The proposed revisions are due to be put to the vote at the Parliament plenary session on 22 April.
