On Tuesday 30 January, the Commission adopted a proposal setting out a new joint EU-UK solution under the Windsor Framework for the use of tariff rate quotas (TRQs) by Northern Ireland businesses, it said in a press release.
The proposed solution follows a public commitment in February 2023 to “work together on a solution to enable Northern Ireland businesses to use tariff rate quotas for commodities originating in the rest of the world”.
