In response to the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Chad and Sudan, on Wednesday 31 January the European Commission announced a €117 million humanitarian aid package for 2024.
Of this amount, €45 million is earmarked for Chad, where the European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, is currently on a mission.
