SECTORAL POLICIES / Internal market
In charge of a report on single market, Enrico Letta admits that Union’s industrial policy system needs rethinking
Brussels, 25/01/2024 (Agence Europe)

On Wednesday 24 January, former Italian Prime Minister Enrico Letta appeared before MEPs on the Committee on International Trade (INTA) to listen to their contributions, mainly on the subject of the EU’s trade policy.

The former head of government singled out two points that were an “important part of his thinking”: Europe’s strategic autonomy and the delicate balance between protecting European interests and maintaining the four fundamental freedoms of the single market.
