25/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – The European Commissioner for Crisis Management, Janez Lenarčič, announced on Wednesday 24 January that 46 tonnes of urgent humanitarian aid – shelter and essential health products for Gazans – had arrived in Egypt on the 37th flight of the EU’s humanitarian airlift so that they could be delivered by humanitarian partners from the Rafah crossing point. On this occasion, he condemned the Israeli strikes that had taken place a few hours earlier on the UNRWA training centre in Khan Younis, which was sheltering hundreds of displaced people. “I strongly condemn this attack. Civilians and humanitarian staff are not a target”, said the Commissioner on X, stressing that this shelter offers security and “distributes essential aid funded by the EU to displaced Palestinians”.
