Greece’s Theodoros Rousopoulos elected President of Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe

Theodoros Rousopoulos, the first Greek person to be elected President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, was inaugurated on Monday 22 January, at the opening of the first part of the 2024 session.

Previously Vice-Chairman of the European People’s Party Group and Chairman of the Assembly’s Committee on Migration, Refugees and Displaced Persons, he succeeds the Dutchman Tiny Kox, who returns to the Chamber as a member of the Confederal Group of the European United...
