09/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – In November 2023, the seasonally-adjusted unemployment rate in the euro area was 6.4%, or 10.97 million people, including 2.32 million under-25s, down from 6.5% in October, according to data published by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat) on Tuesday 9 January. The unemployment rate in the EU was 5.9% in November, representing 12.95 million people, including 2.81 million young people, down from 6.0% the previous month. Unemployment was highest in Spain (11.9%) and Greece (9.4%), and lowest in the Czech Republic (2.4%) and Malta (2.5%). The number of unemployed workers represented 3.1% of the working population in Germany, 7.3% in France and 7.5% in Italy. (MB)
