04/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – Esther Van Dijk, originally from the Netherlands, succeeded Tanja Auvinen as chair of the Management Board of the European Institute for Gender Equality (EIGE) on 1 January 2024. This appointment follows the conclusion of the 41st meeting of EIGE’s Management Board, which was held in Vilnius on 9 and 10 November 2023. Her career has been devoted to public service in the Dutch government. Ms Van Dijk is Director of Gender and LGBTIQ+ Equality at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in the Netherlands. Prior to her appointment as chair, she was a member of EIGE’s Management Board and Standing Committee for a year and a half. (NP)
