05/12/23 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 5 December, the European Union strongly condemned four missile and drone attacks carried out by the Houthis against three commercial vessels on 3 December in the Red Sea, saying they endangered international shipping and the lives of the crews. “The EU underlines the importance of preserving navigational rights and freedoms of all vessels in the Gulf of Aden and Red Sea, in accordance with international law. Threats to international navigation and maritime security are unacceptable”, insisted the European External Action Service spokesperson in a press release. It called on the Houthis to put an immediate end to the threats, refrain from any further attacks, and immediately release the Galaxy Leader vessel and its crew, illegally seized on 19 November in international waters in the southern Red Sea.
