05/12/23 (Agence Europe) – At the 30th OSCE Ministerial Council in Skopje on 1 December, Bjørn Berge, Deputy Secretary General of the Council of Europe, reaffirmed the Organisation’s commitment to establishing Russia’s responsibility for war crimes and violations of fundamental rights committed in Ukraine. This commitment is reflected in particular in the collection of information and the recording of Russian crimes as part of the “Register of Damage” set up by the Council of Europe in May 2023, the establishment of the Consultation Group on the Children of Ukraine (CGU), whose first meeting was held on 30 November and 1 December, and the Council of Europe’s contribution to the Core Group for the creation of a Special Tribunal on the crime of aggression.
