05/12/23 (Agence Europe) – Around 400 organisations from 64 jurisdictions signed a declaration pledging to advance the global adoption or use of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) standard as the global baseline for climate reporting on Monday 4 December at COP28 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (see separate news item). These include European associations such as the Association française des entreprises privées (AFEP), European Issuers, which represents European listed companies, and the European Round Table for Industry (ERT). In a press release, AFEP welcomed “the close cooperation established between the European sustainability reporting standard setter, EFRAG, and the ISSB to achieve maximum interoperability between European and international standards, avoiding double reporting for European companies applying European standards (ESRS)”.
