04/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – “Without prior consultation”, the regions of France have been informed of the decision by the Erasmus+ France Éducation & Formation agency to abandon the project to regionalise the promotion of the flagship youth mobility programme, according to a press release published on Monday 4 December. After a year dedicated to European youth in 2022 and just a few months before the European elections, “this decision sends a worrying signal about France’s ambition to bring Europe closer to its citizens and to all its regions”, according to the French regions. Carole Delga, President of the Regions of France and the Occitanie region, has therefore asked Gabriel Attal, the French Minister for Education, “to ensure that the government’s commitments are honoured, having confirmed on 22 November 2022 the deployment of a system of territorial offices in the regions”.
