MEPs in favour of competition policy tailored to European challenges

On Monday 4 December, MEPs meeting in the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) adopted Stéphanie Yon-Courtin’s (Renew Europe, French) 2023 report on European competition policy (see EUROPE B13256A14).

The four compromise amendments were approved and the final report adopted with 36 votes in favour and 1 abstention.

The Commission is invited to take sustainability and the impact on citizens’ privacy into account when applying competition policy.
