Brussels, 04/12/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 30 November, a new protocol was signed between the ‘European Financial Reporting Advisory Group’ (EFRAG) and the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) independent standard-setting body (see EUROPE 13243/22). This protocol confirms the benefits of the alignment achieved between the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS) and the GRI standards, and commits the two organisations to continuing to work together to provide technical support to the companies concerned. “This new MoU, which includes practical resources and training as well as deeper engagement on standards, reassures companies and all stakeholders of our shared commitment to an aligned, effective and achievable European and global impact reporting ecosystem”, said Eelco van der Enden, GRI's director, in a statement.
