Conditionality of European funds, Commission has given assurances that not a single cent will be paid to Budapest unless all reforms demanded are carried out

On Tuesday 21 November, the European Commissioners for Justice and the Budget, Didier Reynders and Johannes Hahn, assured MEPs that European funds for Hungary would not be paid out until the country had fully complied with the milestones requested by the Commission, particularly those relating to judicial reform.

“Not a penny has been paid out so far” and “the money will not flow if the necessary changes are not made”, insisted the Commissioner for Justice.
