European Commission examines future of fishermen up to 2050

On Tuesday 21 November, the European Commission launched the ‘Fishers of the Future’ initiative, an EU-wide participatory project that will examine the future role of fishermen in society up to 2050.

The project will assess the hopes, fears, expectations and needs of EU fishermen in order to understand how the profession is likely to evolve between now and 2050.
