21/11/23 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 24 November, the Spanish Presidency of the EU Council will inform the Member States of the results of its exploratory trilogue meeting with the European Parliament on Tuesday 21 November on the revision of the rules on the coordination of social security schemes (Regulation 883/2004), and is not expected to request a new mandate from the Council on this occasion, the Presidency said on the same day. According to one source, the meeting with the European Parliament was positive and the two parties are now looking to work on possible compromises. The most sensitive issues in the revision of this regulation concern prior notification for the posting of workers, the rules for exporting unemployment benefits and multi-activity, with the determination of the State responsible for benefits.
