10/11/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 7 November, the European Commission launched a consultation on the performance of the European Labour Authority (ELA) to assess whether its mandate should be revised. The consultation is open until 5 January 2024. The ELA was set up in 2019 to ensure the fair, simple and effective application of EU rules on labour mobility and social security coordination in the EU single market, explains a press release. The European Commission is currently evaluating the performance of the ELA against its objectives and mandate since its creation and determining whether any changes to its mandate are necessary. The European Parliament, for its part, considers this revision necessary (see EUROPE 13287/3). Link to the consultation: https://aeur.eu/f/9ic (SP)
