On Friday 10 November, the European Commission announced that it had authorised a Luxembourg aid scheme worth €15 million to support the protection of biodiversity in the agricultural sector through measures to conserve natural habitats and wild fauna and flora in rural areas, as well as measures to support environmentally and climate-friendly farming practices.
The scheme is open to small and medium-sized enterprises in the primary agricultural production sector.
Aid will be provided until 31 December 2027 in the form of direct grants of up to 100% of eligible costs.
The European Commission found that the aid scheme complied with Article 107(3)(c) of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and the Guidelines for State aid in the agriculture and forestry sector and in rural areas. (Original version in French by Émilie Vanderhulst)
