European Commission green-lights revised Lithuanian recovery plan

24/10/2023 (Agence Europe)On Monday, 23 October, the European Commission approved Lithuania’s revised post-Covid-19 recovery plan, which includes a ‘REPowerEU’ chapter designed to expedite the energy transition and reduce dependence on Russian hydrocarbons (see EUROPE 13213/21). Now worth €3.85 billion (including €1.55 billion in loans), the revised Lithuanian plan will promote the use of renewable energies in industry, will streamline procedures for solar and wind energy production projects, will accelerate the renovation and energy efficiency of buildings, and will strengthen the country’s cybersecurity capabilities. The European Commission has, however, rejected certain tax measures that, from its point of view, are not justified. See the proposal for a decision to approve the revised Lithuanian recovery plan: https://aeur.eu/f/981 (MB)
