Albin Kurti calls on EU to set up special tribunal to try crimes committed by Serbia

24/10/2023 (Agence Europe)The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, called on the EU and the United States on Monday 23 October to create a special tribunal to try Serbian crimes, stating that the Serbian Defence Minister, Miloš Vučević, may have been involved in the terrorist attack in Banjska, in the north of Kosovo, on 24 September (see EUROPE 13257/21). The Serbian Ministry reacted to the accusations, saying they were “completely unfounded”. The Kosovar government has also published details of what it believes to be Serbian involvement in the Banjska attack, in which a Kosovar policeman was killed by a group of Serbian gunmen. Belgrade, for its part, denies any involvement. Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has announced that he will travel to Brussels at the end of the week to try to find a solution to the tensions between his country and Kosovo (see EUROPE 13277/3).
