29/09/23 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 28 September, the European Commission launched a 12-week public consultation on the ecodesign and energy labelling of solid fuel boilers, seeking the views of stakeholders and the public. This feedback will inform new environmental targets for these boilers, legislation for which is expected in early 2025. The consultation covers various aspects, including more stringent efficiency and pollutant emission requirements, the inclusion of non-wood biomass boilers and boilers with a thermal input of more than 500 kW in the legal scope, energy labels with additional information, the adoption of material efficiency requirements, and the need for third-party certification. The consultation will close on 21 December. To access: https://aeur.eu/f/8sy (PLD)
