29/09/23 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 29 September, the European Commission announced that it had approved a change to Bulgaria’s regional aid map up to 31 December 2027. The review was carried out under the revised guidelines on regional State aid. The amended map will be in force from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2027. This decision will make it possible to increase the maximum amounts of investment aid available to identified areas experiencing population decline. The maximum amounts of aid will be increased from 50% to 60% of eligible investment costs in the regions of Veliko Tarnovo, Ruse and Silistra. In addition, the maximum amounts of aid will be increased from 20% to 25% until the end of 2024, and from 15% to 20% from 2025 to the end of 2027 in the Pernik region. (EV)
