29/09/23 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 29 September, the European Commission announced that it had authorised a Greek measure worth €106 million to provide additional aid, in the form of a direct grant, to Gastrade SA, the developer and operator of a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Alexandroupolis, in order to complete construction of the terminal by the end of the year. This measure will supplement the Greek public aid approved by the Commission in June 2021. The Commission has examined the measure in the light of the European rules on State aid, and in particular Article 107(3)(c) and the 2022 Guidelines on State aid for climate, environmental protection and energy (CEEAG).
