23/08/23 (Agence Europe) – To mark International Youth Day on 12 August, the European Commission unveiled the composition of the EU Youth Sounding Board for International Partnerships 2023-2025. The 25 young people selected will be responsible for advising Jutta Urpilainen, the Commissioner responsible for these partnerships, on the participation of young people in the EU’s external action, in line with the commitments made in the ‘Youth Action Plan in European Union external action’. “In many partner countries, over half of the population is young people. Youth must have a say on the decisions that make their future”, said Ms Urpilainen. For its second mandate, the Council team is made up of 14 women and 11 men aged between 19 and 29, from Africa, Asia, the Pacific, Latin America and the EU. (HS)
