European Globalisation Adjustment Fund has helped 13,000 workers made redundant between 2021 and 2022, according to a Commission report

23/08/23 (Agence Europe)The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund has helped 13,000 redundant workers to retrain and find new jobs, said the Commission in a press release on 11 August. “According to the 2021-2022 Activity Report of the European Globalisation Adjustment Fund for Displaced Workers (EGF), the EU has allocated €51.8 million from the EGF to help more than 13,000 displaced and self-employed workers retrain and find jobs.” The Commission received applications from nine Member States (Belgium, Germany, Estonia, Greece, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands and Finland). The workers most affected were active in the air and automobile transport, warehousing and transport support activities sectors. Most of the workers helped lost their jobs because of Covid-19.
