10/07/23 (Agence Europe) – The Hungarian Minister for Justice, Judit Varga, attended her last General Affairs Council meeting on Monday 10 July. She now wishes to devote herself to defending the ideas of the “conservative movement” at the European elections in June 2024, with a view to bringing about a real change in policies at European Union level on issues such as “demography, migration and family policy”. She reiterated her country’s ongoing commitment to European values, in particular its support for the EU’s solidarity with Ukraine. She went on to criticise the fact that Poland and Hungary are literally being “deprived” from European funds earmarked for post-Covid-19 recovery on the basis of “unfounded allegations” based on double standards and the political context. “Is this EU solidarity?” she wondered.
