10/07/23 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 10 July, the Council of the European Union adopted new macrofinancial assistance worth €100 million to help North Macedonia meet its financial commitments in 2023 and 2024 (see EUROPE 13115/12). This assistance, which will take the form of two tranches of loans with a maximum maturity of 15 years, is being provided alongside an IMF programme worth €530 million over two years. It is conditional on reforms to democratic mechanisms, economic governance, investment management, the fight against corruption and judicial reform.
