Giorgia Meloni re-elected President of European Conservative Party

28/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 26 June, the co-presidents of the ECR Group in the European Parliament, Poland’s Ryszard Legutko and Italy’s Nicola Procaccini, congratulated Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on her re-election as leader of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Party. “We are convinced that under her leadership, the Conservative family has an answer to the major concerns of the day, including dealing with the Russian aggressor, the still unresolved issue of irregular immigration, and an ecological transition that is less ideologically left-wing”, said Mr Legutko in a statement. Also re-elected as vice-presidents of the ECR party were MEP Jorge Buxadé from the Spanish Vox party and MEP Radosław Fogiel from the Polish Law and Justice (PiS) party. (MB)
