28/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – The German Minister of Finance, Christian Lindner, the French Minister of Finance, Bruno Le Maire, and the Minister of Finance of the Republic of Poland, Magdalena Rzeczkowska, are advocating “prudent fiscal policies”, which will gradually phase out the emergency measures introduced in 2022 to help households and businesses cope with the energy crisis, in order to limit the pressure on public finances exacerbated by high inflation. In a declaration adopted on Tuesday 27 June, they emphasise the importance of supply-side reforms to boost economic competitiveness, citing increased digitalisation, reducing administrative and regulatory burdens, and providing conditions conducive to private investment as objectives. In order to mobilise more investment to accelerate the climate and digital transitions, they advocate deepening the union of capital markets both in terms of legislation and exchanging experience within a dedicated “platform”.
