The EU Council’s IMEX (admission) group discussed, on Wednesday 28 June, a new compromise proposal from the Swedish Presidency on the revision of the Long-Term Residents Directive (LTR).
The European Parliament had adopted its mandate at the end of March (see EUROPE B13151A7) and reduced the minimum period of residence required to obtain long-term resident status in the EU.
