26/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 21 June, the Member States' ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) validated the provisional political agreement with the European Parliament on the deployment of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). Inter-institutional negotiations led to this agreement on Thursday 8 June (see EUROPE 13198/14). It provides for the systematic, harmonised and gradual deployment of ITS, taking full account of the cost-benefit ratio and administrative capacity. It retains the structure of the Commission's initial proposal, which is based on the ‘framework’ dimension of the TSI Directive and on the various technical interventions by means of implementing acts and delegated acts. The European Parliament still has to validate the text before it can be published in the Official Journal. Read the final text: https://aeur.eu/f/7qc (AD)
