26/06/2023 (Agence Europe) – In a press release published on Friday 23 June, SWEN Capital Partners, a European asset management company specialising in responsible investment in non-listed companies, revealed that the attention paid to biodiversity is still in its infancy compared to climate change. The survey was conducted among 144 asset management companies operating in the private equity, private debt and infrastructure segments. Only 12% have a biodiversity strategy in place, while 51% have a climate strategy. 69% have developed indicators to measure their carbon footprint, compared with only 11% who measure their biodiversity footprint. Elsewhere, the European Commission recently decided to extend the scope of taxonomy, in particular to the protection and restoration of biodiversity and ecosystems (see EUROPE 13200/14). (AD)
