17/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – The High Representative of the EU, Josep Borrell, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, discussed, on Tuesday 16 May in Brussels, concerns and issues of common interest related to trade and investment, climate change, with a view to the upcoming COP28 in Dubai, and economic diversification and energy transition, taking into account the deepening of bilateral relations, announced the European Commission’s External Action Service in a press release. The two men also discussed the negative consequences of the war in Ukraine and the geopolitical situation, in particular the Serbia/Kosovo dialogue, developments in Sudan and Iran. “The meeting took place in the context of the excellent bilateral relations of the European Union with the United Arab Emirates”, the EEAS said.
