15/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 15 May, the European Commission announced that it had authorised a Polish scheme worth around €122.6 million to support the primary agricultural production sector in the context of the Russian military aggression against Ukraine. The scheme was approved under the Temporary Framework for State Aid in Times of Crisis and Transition (see EUROPE 13138/1). The Commission notes that the aid scheme aims to mitigate the impact of rising fuel costs for eligible beneficiaries in Poland and thus contribute to the stability of agricultural prices. The aid will reach eligible beneficiaries until 31 December 2023 in the form of direct grants. The amounts will be limited to €250 000 per beneficiary. (EV)
