‘gatekeeper’ designation under DMA—companies will have to notify European Commission of their services before 3 July

02/05/2023 (Agence Europe) – New rules applicable to ‘gatekeepers’ that were set under the Digital Markets Act (DMA) came into force on Tuesday, 2 May (see EUROPE B13163A15). These rules thus provide that potential gatekeepers who meet the quantitative thresholds set under the DMA will have to notify the European Commission of their platform services before this coming 3 July.
