On Tuesday 2 May, the Commission triggered the safeguard clause banning the import of four Ukrainian agricultural products into five Member States. The safeguard measure came into force immediately.
It concerns wheat, maize, rapeseed and sunflower seeds, which can no longer be exported from Ukraine to Bulgaria, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Slovakia until 5 June 2023. However, these Ukrainian products may transit through these five countries to other Member States or third countries.
