25/04/2023 (Agence Europe) – The European Commissioner for Trade Valdis Dombrovskis pointed to the need to rebalance economic and trade relations between the EU and China during a meeting with Chinese Commerce Minister Wang Wentao on Monday 24 April. He also told him that China’s uncompetitive policies and the increasing politicisation of the economic environment were creating uncertainty and discouragement among European investors. The issue of lengthy administrative procedures for European agri-food products and medical devices arriving in China was raised. Wang Wentao announced that Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng will chair the next EU-China High Level Economic and Trade Dialogue, which is expected to take place in the coming months. (LM)
